A nice impression on wove paper. 

In 1784, after a four-year trip to Italy, Louis-François Cassas accompanied the Constantinople's French ambassador, the Count of Choiseul-Gouffier, on the banks of the Bosphorus to draw maps, views of monuments and representations of costumes. He traveled to Turkey, Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Phenicia, Palestine, Lower Egypt and Libya. Part of his drawings were engraved for Picturesque travels in Syria, Phoenicia, Palestine and Lower Egypt. : a work divided into three volumes and containing about three hundred and thirty plates.

Condition : full margins, median horizontal fold, very slight scattered foxing.
