Impression on laid paper. 

Sold by his brothers to Pharaoh's officer, Putiphar, Joseph is falsely accused of adultery by Putiphar's wife. In prison, he interprets the dreams of the cupbearer and the baker of Pharaoh (The Bible, Genesis 40).

Sheet: 312 x 428 mm.

Reference: a proof is preserved in the British Museum. 

Condition: impression trimmed to the image and to the letter. A restored tear from the lower edge. Some foxmarks and staining.
